Kaydens Journey

Hi, my name is Kayden and I was born a beautiful healthy baby boy April 2 2014. I was 5 weeks early but was doing very well with my growth, and reaching all my developmental milestones. At 5 months old I started having seizures and spent some time in the hospital. Dr's weren't sure what was wrong as all tests showed that everything was normal. After being sent home on seizure medication, overtime my seizures got worse and worse and I started to loose skills. I once rolled over, but I could'nt do it anymore. I used to watch my brother and sister play, and my mom and dad make faces but can no longer see them like I used to. I loved my excersaucer and jolly jumper, but I cant do those anymore either. I ended up spending more time in hospital when my mom and dad found out that I had a chromosome disorder and seizures that are difficult to control. As of today, I have now been given a feeding tube because I no longer remember how to suck on a bottle. Dr's say I have a complex seizure disorder, a chromosome disorder, severe development delay, Hypotonia (low muscle tone), and I'm visually Impaired. I have had many blood tests done in Canada and had blood sent to the US, 2 MRI's, spinal tap and several EEG's with no answers as to what is wrong. I'm soon going to need special devices to get me around as I'm getting to be a big boy and too heavy to be caried all the time. Theres also a new test in the states where they can test 25,000 genes and has a chance on giving answers but costs a lot of money. Getting answers could be very important as Dr's are unsure of my prognosis for the future. With fundraising efforts we are hoping to be able to help get answers and supplies needed to get through this journey and hopefully have a diagnosis of what is happening to me and hopefully find others who are in the same situation.
